A transcription is essential, to reliably obtain the information which has been transmitted orally, in writing. TRANSCRIPT UPDATE
Various degrees of transcription exist and it will be necessary to agree together, on the result most suited to your request. Here are the transcription options available to you.
1 The literal transcription (or word for word, also called verbatim) : all the sounds heard are written, without filtering or improvement. Hesitations, tics, badly pronounced words or onomatopoeias (“Heu”) are faithfully transcribed. The written text is based on its oral counterpart.
2 Improved transcription : unlike the previous degree of transcription, this one allows for a more readable and a smooth result. So all the errors related to pronunciation and/or language will be omitted, in order to obtain a well-written and grammatically correct text.
3 Synthetic transcription : it will be more of a report than a literal transcription. The information will be sorted and organized in order to make a condensed transcript that will summarize all the information transmitted orally.
4 The style used : and finally, it will be necessary to choose the style used. Would you like the transcript to be written from the point of view of the speaker or the transcriber? Example: “I consider the company Webomedia very professional.” or “the director considers that the company Webomedia is very professional”.
